Hi, I’m glad that you are here!
My name is Darby Stickler and in August of 2010, as a stay-at-home mother of three and blogger, I opened HONEY BEE TEES. Back then I had a baby business and real life babies of my own, a 2, 4, & 6-year old. My new business allowed me to work from my dining room and stay home with my little ones, and blog about both! The picture below is from a feature on Apartment Therapy.
I’ve since hung up the ole blog and stick to my current social media outlets: Instagram and Facebook. My handle over there is @darby613 and you’ll see pictures of what I enjoy doing when I’m not working: spending time with my family on the water in Orange Beach, Alabama, and renovating our little 1400 square foot house.
Back in 2010, as a mother to young children, I often found myself discontented with the t-shirt options that retailers offered—busy, loud, and sometimes inappropriate. I saw the demand for children’s t-shirts that were comfortable and timeless—something that both child and parent would love. Starting with six simple screen-printed designs, I opened HONEY BEE TEES with the hope and vision, that in time, it would grow. It’s crazy to think that we now have well over 100 designs on a vast array of products!
Over the years I’ve moved HONEY BEE TEES from my dining room, to my garage, and now on to its own building. As we have grown I am thankful to say that we have remained true to my original desire to offer high-quality t-shirts for children, screened with simple designs, taking nothing from the little faces that wear them. Each design is carefully thought out, hand drawn & hand-screened. Our shirts are constructed of the highest quality fabric and become more loved with every wash & wear.
In March of 2012, Dana Wright joined HONEY BEE TEES and brought with her years of experience as a buyer in the apparel merchandise industry, as well as a degree in Apparel Merchandising from Auburn University. I value Dana’s experience and attention to detail. She masterfully manages not only all our purchasing, but also oversees the day to day operations of HONEY BEE TEES. Dana is an integral part of the business and, as most of our customers know, she is a pleasure to have on the team.
I am fortunate to have the help of several others as well, both young women and mothers who help the business run smoothly by seeing that orders are processed and shipped efficiently.
I am continually grateful for your ongoing support of HONEY BEE TEES and hope that we can stay connected via email, Instagram and Facebook!
